Patch 10.0 released a major key for every class job in WoW. With the changes being made to each class via new talent trees, this has certainly caused some volatility. 10.0.7 Tier List seems like an opportunity for Blizzard to update the meta, with various buffs and changes to different classes.
The most notable change is Paladin Retribution, though for now at least it doesn’t seem like a positive change. We’re in the early days and we’re running out of data, but it looks like a meta-shuffle is about to happen.
Most notable so far seems to be the two Hunter specs in the series, which have seen a huge boost to their DPS profile thanks to the feel of the Raszegeth bow. Arcane Mage and Havoc DH also look like good specs, but due to their lack of popularity, we don’t see the best of Arcane Mage at first.
10.0.7 Tier List A Closer Look
Hunter:
Hunters (ranged) may make a comeback in 10.0.7, it appears. With a massive nerf to the Raszagath arc, BM and MM saw massive improvements to the rest of their rotation. As a result, those without a bow could see over a 14% increase in DPS according to the Hunter community. Even those with the bow will see a small improvement in overall DPS. However, the only concern is that we will once again have a bottleneck in talent builds, pushing players towards a specific build.
Magician:
It looks like a harmony level has been found for Warlocks for this patch. While they may not be the “S-Tier” spec everyone wants them to be, we may be looking for some parity between the 3 specs. We’ll shine in testing, and if 10.0 is anything to go by, it’ll be a patch that sees Demo Warlock take centre stage.
Demon Hunter Havoc:
Looks like Havoc is back, long live Havoc. While not the hardest spec in the game, Havoc’s charm lies in its easy-to-learn, visceral twist. 10.0.7 will likely shine a light on Havoc as he seems to be glowing early in the patch, making him arguably the best melee DPS in the patch.
