Justin Moore Villanova Injury Update: Villanova’s basketball star Justin Moore has got injured while playing his match against Houston in the Elite Eight round of the NCCA tournament. He slipped on the floor at the time of the second half of the match.
The tournament was held on Saturday and on the next day his test reports revealed that he is suffering from a torn right Achilles Tendon. According to Moore’s coach Jay Wright, there is no broken bone revealed in the X-ray reports which means that the injury is not severe. But he is out of the tournament and has to undergo the surgery this week and that is why he will be sidelined.
Villanova’s Wildcats wins the ticket to the final four after defeating Houston Cougars on Saturday. But this victory costs one of their best players Justin Moore as he slipped on the court’s floor and injured his lower leg. This accident occurs when he kept his right leg and collapsed while making a jump.
This is heartbreaking news for all his fans, teammates and coaches ad Justin Moore is one of the greatest players in his team. Due to his injury, he will not able to play the rest of the NCCA tournament.
As Moore is out of the final four so for now, Caleb Daniels is going to replace him. He is the sixth man on the Wildcats team and has an average of 10.2 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 37.7% from 3-point range in 27.3 minutes each game of this season.
Moore is an important player in the Wildcats team with an average of 13.6 points per game. With his contribution to the matches, the team has got the victory in the last matches of the tournament. But it is very unfortunate that in his last match he has met a tragic accident and fell on the floor when only a few seconds left to end the match.
After the match, Moore has been seen as extremely emotional seeing with tears in his eyes and his teammates were consoling him as they also know that the team Wildcats is incomplete without him and they need him for the remaining matches to win the NCCA tournament. Justin is the power player of their team playing like a quality defender and a dynamic scorer.
Villanova head coach Jay Wright has stated to the reporters “This is a tough blow for all of us, not just because of the great player Justin is, because of what he means to us as teammates and coaches”. “As one of our captains, Justin has been an integral part of our success.
He helps our team in so many ways. Every game, he guards the opponent’s best scorer and is one of the toughest rebounding guards we have had in our time at Villanova.
Villanova Wildcats will meet with No.1 seed Kansas Jayhawks in the semi-finals which are going to be held on April, 2 at Superdome in New Orleans. The team has won tournaments in 2016 and 2018 so it is quite competitive to win the match. So, let’s hope for the best for the Wildcats to win the tournament without Justin Moore and let’s pray for him to recover fast so that will come back soon for other matches.
