Instead of dancing legs, fists were swung! Scores of men and women attacked each other at a nightclub on board the cruise ship. Videos online show the chaotic scuffle.

The Germans love cruise vacations (Massenschlägerei Kreuzfahrtschiffe):
- The most popular cruises are by far the Americans, followed by the Chinese and then the Germans
- Over 30 percent of the world’s cruise ships are deployed in the Caribbean, making it the most popular cruising area ahead of the Mediterranean
- The most popular cruising areas among German crusaders are Northern Europe and the western Mediterranean
- The term has its origins in the 17th-century Dutch word ‘kruiser‘, which meant a cruising (meaning going back and forth) ship
- Thanks to the cruise boom of recent years, Germany is now a world-class shipyard location
- In the public eye, however, the high burdens on people and the environment caused by cruise ships are always taken into account

Security staff are also standing between the fighting passengers and the shattered glass – but as “ Bild ” reports, the security guards did not really intervene.
Cruise: Police face a big problem
Why exactly the travelers suddenly attacked each other is still unclear. An employee of the US broadcaster NBC shared a video of the incident on Twitter and wrote under it that the passengers had gotten their hair over a threesome.
Organizer Carnival Cruise called the Coast Guard for help, which accompanied the ship to the port of New York. The police were already waiting there for the troublemakers – but the investigation is not that easy.
