On September 22, Australia’s second-largest telecommunication company, faced a Optus Cyber Attack; for this reason, they informed and told every customer that all the customers whose ID documents number like passport and license numbers were exposed as part of the cyber attack.
It will resume to reach out to clients who have other details like email addresses revealed. Optus is not sending the link in SMS or email. And also, they reported to all the clients not to press any link if they obtained and email or text from a source claiming to be from Optus.
Due to this cyber attack, around 9.8 million customers have been affected, altho the exact number has just been determined.

What kind of personal information was exposed?
Some necessary and personal information was leaked, like the customer’s name, date of birth, email id, contact number, address, driving license and passport details.
What measures did the customers and company have been adapted?
After this incident, Optus will contact customers whose risk has increased as a priority over the next few days; after these, they will surely contact other people. And also, if any customer is concerned, then they have the option to contact them on 113 937 number.
These are some measures the customer can adapt like-
The customer can make all accounts more secure by changing the password, Do not provide any personal or financial information or click on the links you are unsure of. Apart from that, There are several other measures the customer can do, like changing their phone number, driving license number etc.
What did the CEO of Optus say?
The Optus boss Kelly Bear mention ransom demand. And also, in forwarding, Optus Boss said that the Australian police are investigating this matter, but till now, any report will not come forward.
