Batman The Doom That Came To Gotham Read Online: The upcoming animated film will be released in March on digital, Blu-ray, and as a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray combo pack.
According to the movie, Batman “confronts Lovecraftian supernatural forces that threaten the very existence of Gotham City while receiving aid from and squaring off against along the way with reimagined versions of his famous allies and enemies, including Green Arrow, Ra’s al Ghul, Mr Freeze, Killer Croc, Two-Face, James Gordon and many more.”
Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham stars David Giuntoli (Grimm, A Million Little Things) reprising his role as Batman after his performance in Batman: Soul of the Dragon. Also appearing in the film are Tati Gabrielle (Kaleidoscope) as Kai Li Cain, Christopher Gorham (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Oliver Queen, Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul) as Harvey Dent, James Gordon and David Dastmalchian are portrayed by John DiMaggio on Futurama. Grendon is played by (Dune, The Suicide Squad, and Ant-Man).
The story was published by DC Comics. The comic book “Elsewhere,” written by Troy Nixey and Dennis Janke, with illustrations by Mike Mignola and Richard Pace.
The film is the latest installment in the DC Universe’s current series of original animated films, with the most recently released film being October’s Batman & Superman: Battle of the Super Sons. Legion of Super-Heroes, Justice League: Warworld, and an as-yet-untitled Milestone Media movie announced on DC Fandom in October 2021 will also be released in 2023.
Based on a three-issue Elseworlds series of the same name, Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham will be available March 28 on digital, 4K, and Blu-ray. The film sees an alternate 1920s version of The Dark Knight fighting creatures straight out of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos.
The film’s trailer previews the horrors to come, including Batman battling a Killer Croc that bears a strong resemblance to one of Lovecraft’s Deep Ones, accessing ancient tomes of forbidden knowledge, and joining other reimagined DC- heroes work, including Etrigan the Demon and Green Arrow.
Bruce Wayne is voiced in the Batman movie by David Giuntoli (Grimm, A Million Little Things), who also portrayed him in Soul of the Dragon. Kai Li Cain, a close comrade of Batman who did not feature in the original comic, makes her DC Animation debut as played by Tati Gabrielle (Kaleidoscope, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Uncharted). The second Batgirl in the comic book chronology, Cassandra Cain, appears to be the model for the character.
David Giuntoli, a star of Grimm and 13 Hours, voices the Dark Knight in Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham. This isn’t the first time Giuntoli’s voice has appeared under the hood, as the actor also provides the voice of Batman in 2021’s Batman: Soul of the Dragon.
The supporting cast includes Tati Gabrielle (The 100, Uncharted) as Kai Li Cain, Gideon Adlon (Blockers) as Oracle, Christopher Gorham (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Green Arrow, Jason Marsden Dick is played by (Batman: The Brave and the Bold), Lucius Fox is portrayed by Tim Russ (Star Trek Voyager), Thomas Wayne is played by Darin De Paul (Shazam!) and Alfred Pennyworth is once again played by Brian George (Batman: The Killing Joke).
In Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham, Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul), Emily O’Brien (Batman: The Enemy Within), and Navid Negahban (Aladdin) all play characters who help Harvey Dent track down some of the play’s antagonists.
This year will also see the release of Justice League: Warworld, which is slated for release in summer 2023; and an RWBY/Justice League animated film; and Aztec Batman: Clash Of Empires, which will have yet another take on The Dark Knight.

Batman’s Lovecraftian Adventure
The comic version of Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham was originally released in 2000-2001 and was written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and Richard Pace (Midnight Sons Unlimited, Starman).
