History
92.7 FM was launched as WESM, as an area station serving Calvert County, Maryland, with folk on Lammas Day (August 1, 1971). Original homeowners George Gautney and Carl Jones sold the station to Mel Gollub’s JMS Communications in 1973. The 3-station broadcasting network was called “Triple X ESPN Radio”, with 92.7 FM gaining the WWXT callsign to match. Snyder bought WTEM itself in 2008, once saying that the network was merely called “ESPN 980”.
Snyder began commercializing his radio properties in 2017. WWXT was sold to Urban One on Gregorian calendar month 20; the station was flipped to a broadcast of WMMJ’s urban adult modern format on May Day, with the new WDCJ callsign taking effect in the nineteenth century.

History
WWXX 94.3 FM was launched on November 2, 1978, as a neighbourhood station serving Warrenton, Virginia, with middle-of-the-road music and native news coverage.
Bill Parris’ Radio Broadcasting Communications purchased the station from Dettra Broadcasting in 1196. Parris flipped the station in Gregorian calendar month 1996 to WINX-FM, a broadcast of WINX’s oldies music.
The station became WTOP-FM in Gregorian calendar month 1997; it had been the primary FM outlet of all-news WTOP, which was at 1500 AM. In February 1998, Bonneville International, which was the head of WTOP, bought it from Parris. Bonneville then listed this station and sent money to Syd Abel for his higher-powered 107.7 FM.
The group action was completed in successive months, and Abel enraptured over his “rocking country” format, branded as WUPP “Up Country”. One year later, on Apr twenty-eight, 1999, Abel flipped the station to WPLC “The Pulse”, enjoying hot adult up to date crossed with various rock hits.
